I am Zhang Yong, who once left home to “fulfill my full-time duty” in the United States on Saipan. With the early winter wind and the southward flying geese carrying my heavy thoughts, can you receive them? How have you been lately? Are you still desperately dedicating everything to Almighty God? Can you take a moment to sit down and listen to what’s in my heart?
I come from Shanxi Province and I am a “post-90s” generation. I was deeply trapped in the Almighty God cult for over ten years under the influence of my parents.
In the first half of 2011, my parents believed what others said, that “God has come to the world for the second time in the flesh” and that joining Almighty God was the only way to attain eternal life. So, they joined Almighty God and even turned our home into a meeting point. At that time, I was in my second year of high school, and when I got home from school, I often listened to them “share the word of God.” Gradually, I came to believe that “the end of the world is coming,” and that going to school was not as important as doing things for God, so I simply dropped out of school in early 2012 to focus on believing in God.
Four years later, I was arranged to go abroad to “fulfill my duty full-time,” applying for a visa on arrival in the United States, specifically in Saipan, under the guise of tourism. I am living a hellish life in a foreign land, where having a full meal has become a luxury. Every day, I fill my stomach with rice provided by the local Red Cross, and having a plate of stir-fried vegetables feels like a feast. I have had my roof blown off by typhoons on the island, with the wind repeatedly whipping my face through the cracks of the door in the dead of night. For the sake of what God said about “disasters coming soon, preparing good deeds, and being saved by God,” I devoted myself wholeheartedly to the Almighty God, enduring day after day in such hunger and cold.
Yes, the video “God's True Love for Humanity” was created by me. Many of the outdoor scenes you see in the video were filmed by me on location, while others were edited from images taken from CCTV dramas, processed, and then sent to “the higher-ups.” “The higher-ups” then combined these false images to create complete film and television works to confuse everyone. Moreover, Almighty God has repeatedly slandered our Party through these film and television works, fabricating many plots that attack and slander the Party and government, and calling them “persecutions.” Over time, those of us who frequently watch these videos have gradually developed a hatred for society and indifference towards our loved ones, becoming isolated individuals who only look up to Almighty God. How can this not cause fear and worry among our family members in the long run?
I remember that as soon as I left the country, my passport was torn up by the “the higher-ups.” The Almighty God cult organization exploits local policies to allow people going abroad to stay long-term by applying for so-called asylum. When I was a child, I was very mischievous; I fell from a tree and left a scar on my head. The Almighty God forced me to write my personal experiences over and over again, insisting that I describe these scars as “being persecuted in China for believing in Almighty God, and the scars on my body were all caused by being beaten by Chinese police.”
Every time I think back on these, I feel a chill run down my spine.
Like you, I was once deeply trapped in cult, dismissive of the warnings, but only after truly awakening did I realize that in the Almighty God cult, we learned to fabricate various lies to deceive our loved ones and concoct all sorts of “heretical theories” to frame our Party and country. Following Almighty God, we see no positive energy of faith, nor do we feel the true emotions of humanity!
In a few short words, believing in Almighty God has wasted ten years of my youth. Evil cannot suppress righteousness; the lies of Almighty God are gradually being uncovered as people see through the repeated excuses and evasions. Not to mention that its so-called “great disaster” has been “coming soon” for nearly twenty years, just the “unmarried pregnancy” of the female Christ is hard to speak of; Not to mention whether the origin of the “female Christ” is consistent with the Bible, just the anti-government and anti-social rhetoric throughout Almighty God’s teachings makes us seriously consider: did we initially believe in God to overthrow the national regime and disrupt society?
The deep care of the Party and government for us is hard to express, because they know that those trapped in the Almighty God cult are the most ordinary people who have been deceived, and the original intention of believing in God was simply to aspire to a better life. We are grateful to the Party and the government for mobilizing the entire society to search for those of us who are lost in the vast sea of people, and we appreciate the love of the Party and the government for saving us from the clutches of the cult.
